Surah Sajdah

Surah Sajdah is the thirtysecond chapter of the Quran with thirty verses. Regarding the timing and contextual background of the supposed revelation, it is an earlier "Meccan surah", which means it is believed to have been revealed in Mecca, instead of later in Medina.

Name taken from Verse 15 where there is a mention of word “Sajda”.

"Only those believe in Our verses who, when they are reminded by them, fall down in prostration and exalt Allah with praise of their Lord, and they are not arrogant"

But It does not mean that this name is the actual topic discussed in the whole Surah Al Sajdah. It is just a reference and mark/symbol to distinguish this Surah from others as is with most other Surahs of Quran. While there are diversified topics discussed in these Surahs.

The Messenger of Allah PBUH said: One who recites Surah Sajdah at night and Yasin, Surah Qamar and Mulk, there would be for him a light and a protection from Devil, and his position will rise till the Day of Judgment.
