St Xavier's College, Ahmedabad, a Jesuit College founded in 1955, is known for the quality of its education, for its discipline and for its value system. It was conferred autonomous status in 2014 by UGC. It was accredited with A (3.41 CGPA) in 2013 by NAAC and has been declared as a College with Potential for Excellence since 2006. India Today has consistently ranked Xavier's as the best college in Gujarat and among the top 50 colleges in India. With the implementation of autonomy, the college has integrated a variety of value added to its curriculum including capacity building, human resource development modules, a Personal Growth Oriented Programme and many skill development programmes.
