The sounds that an animal makes often reveal their sex, age, health, species, emotional state, individual identity, and where they are from. But to the human ear, they may seem little more than "quack" or "bark".

AudiOh™ can disentangle the information embedded in a quack or bark, and reveal it. Record a bird song, and AudiOh will identify the species. AudiOh decomposes sounds into short segments or words, and compares the fingerprint of each segment with a database of millions of fingerprints drawn from professional recordings of known species. As you wait, you'll get status reports as the analysis progresses, and in about 40 seconds, you'll have the results.

Typically, results include a confidence score and some notes on the most similar recordings in our reference library. If there is ambiguity, perhaps because the recording contains just a few seconds of chirps, then AudiOh will list the closest matches. All results include links to pages with more information on the bird, so that you can examine photos and videos and listen to other recordings to help confirm your conclusion.

AudiOh's links will provide you with info on vernacular names, identification, behavior, diet, reproduction, habitat and ecology, taxonomy, distribution, conservation, and more, including images, videos and audio recordings. All of this information is stored in the cloud, and won't burden your phone's storage.

This version will identify all birds world-wide, but can take up to 40 seconds to identify the species that made the sound.
