Aurélio Digital

The Aurélio Digital App brings all the content of the 5th edition of the renowned work of Aurélio Buarque de Holanda Ferreira, the Aurélio Dictionary of the Portuguese Language, which has more than 435,000 entries, definitions and phrases.

With words, meanings and expressions that reflect our times, in words from different areas of knowledge and from different levels and registers, this dictionary has an indication of the 3,000 most frequent words in the contemporary written language, counted and selected from a collection of more 5 million occurrences.

Revised according to the new spelling, the work features symbols that allow quick identification of changes and notes, as well as additions that point to controversial cases.

The design of this application was designed to provide a good browsing experience for the user, who will be able to enjoy the content even without an internet connection, after downloading data in the first online access.

This app also allows:

• voice consultation, by means of a search typed in the “Search” field and also by clicking on the words in the texts of the entries;

• targeted search, using different categories of filters such as: adjective, adverb, article, conjunction, element of composition, interjection, numeral, prefix, preposition, pronoun, noun, suffix, verb, slang, foreign, among others;

• quick reference to any entry from A to Z;

• consultation of the complete conjugation of verbs, using the infinitive form or inflected forms;

• query the history of recent searches and favorite entries;

• consult the accent, hyphenation and spelling rules of the 1990 Orthographic Agreement;

• access to the Word of the Day area and the Publications area, with a listing of posts about the world of lexicography, the author of the work, the use of the work in the classroom, etc.
