The Virtue of Memorizing Hadiths

Rasulullah SAW once said (meaning): "May Allah make the face of someone who hears a hadith from us then memorizes it and then conveys it to others..."(HR. Tirmidhi, Abu Daud and Ibn Majah from Zaid bin Thabit ra.)

From Abu Hurairah ra. said, Rasulullah SAW said: "Whoever memorizes 40 hadiths that are useful for my ummah from their deen affairs, Allah will surely resurrect him on the Day of Judgment along with the scholars. The superiority of an alim compared to an abid (expert of worship) is 70 degrees and Allah knows better the distance between one degree and the next."(HR. Baihaqi in Syu'bul Iman)*

From Abu Darda ra. said, Rasulullah SAW was asked what is the limit of knowledge if someone memorizes it then he is considered a faqih?

Rasulullah SAW answered, "Whoever memorizes for my ummah 40 hadiths from their deen, Allah will surely resurrect him on the Day of Judgment as a faqih and I will be an intercessor and witness for him."(HR. Baihaqi )
