- Background Tube is a floating popup player application, all the content is provided by YouTube services. Thus, it does not have direct control over the content displayed.

- Background Tube does not rely on the YouTube API, as using it requires an API key bringing with it specific regulations and restrictions. YouTube would then have more options of tracking your YouTube usage at their disposal.

- We had used NewPipeExtractor as a third-party library for extracting things from streaming sites. It is a core component of Background Tube, but could be used independently. Read license here: https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipeExtractor#license

- According to YouTube's Terms of Use, we are not allowed to display videos when in the lock screen or download video for local music.

Permissions

- Appear on top other apps: This permission allows Background Tube to show the pop-up player on top of other apps you're using.
