The Beta Fly Vario turns your smartphone into a fully equipped instant vario for paragliding using the acceleration and barometric sensors of your smartphone to provide a non delayed instant feedback of your climb rate. Never miss a thermal using the instant vario and sound.

Customizable Vario Sound and Vario Tone Curves with support for XCTracer and LeGPSBip configuration sound files. Choose from different settings for responsiveness and set lift, sink and sniffing thresholds to tune your phone’s vario sounds as needed.

Connect bluetooth and USB varios like the XCTracer, blueFlyVario v12 or SkyBean2 if needed.

Download high resolution elevation data and airspace information with ICAO like coloring to enhance your paragliding experience. An integrated waypoint planner helps you to navigate waypoints and turnpoints while paragliding and calculates distances continuously. On the ground, create, import or export routes and waypoints for your next flight. Or use the airspace downloader to explore airspaces in your region of interest. Last but not least, check the weather with your preferred METAR station using ICAO codes.

While paragliding, you can share your location using live tracking. After landing you can share your flight logs via messengers, mails or storage providers using .kml or .igc files. The integrated flight book makes it easy to check flight statistics, routes and strategies within Google Maps (2D) and in Google Earth (3D). Flights are color coded and logs include the calculation of the common stats like climb rates, altitudes and duration as well as distances i. e. distance to start, one way distance, free three turnpoint and open/closed triangle distance.

The Beta Fly Vario features a complete geolocation awareness by incorporating flatland and terrain maps together with a dynamic lookup of mountain names, places and information about airspaces and digital elevation data. GNSS assisted services include the WGS84 and mean sea level altitudes. The wind direction is calculated continuously during flight using your GNSS bearing and speed over ground. Make a little more than a half turn to get most accurate wind estimates.

Being tested on many different smartphones and with the help of customer feedback, the Beta Fly Vario improves continuously.
