Free automated system for renting city bikes in Velenje

The BICY system is a free automated system for renting urban bikes, which includes 76 bikes at 16 rental stations in Velenje and Šoštanj. Due to the great interest in renting bicycles, in the past year, the BICY system was upgraded with two stations in the KS Pesje (at the Gasilski dom Pesje) and at the Velenje Shopping Center.

The BICY system allows you to rent bikes up to 14 hours per week for the user. The system includes quality wheels of the Slovenian producer KRPAN. You can return a borrowed bike to any station or stand system BICY. The BICY system was developed locally by the external contractor - the Velenje School Center.

In 2014, the Municipality of Šoštanj with 20 wheels at four stations also joined the BICY system. The Šoštanj bike system is compatible with Velenje and enables rental of bicycles in Velenje and Šoštanj.
