boqpod

boqpod is a first independent, totally secure, private and anonymous messenger. Privacy, security, anonymity are the three main features that work all together in boqpod app.

Privacy

Messenger is developed by experienced cyber-security experts, crypto enthusiasts, inquisitive and deeply passionate about privacy. The app is totally under your control only (messenger is controlled only by you). You generate seed-phrase to create a boqpod ID based on elliptic-curves. Save your seed-phrase at a reliable place. It will not be stored anywhere else. The restore will not be possible in the event of loss. You create your access password to encrypt your device database. You create yourself encryption keys for messaging, voice and video calls. We provide communication through decentralized boqpod network. You are able not only to use your server for your needs but help others to communicate within the boqpod network as well.

Security

We developed our own protocol. RSA4096 asymmetric key and AES256 block key are used for end-to-end encryption. The private key is only stored on your phone and never leaves it. Messages are only stored on your device. It will be not possible to restore keys in case of the device loss. You will have to generate new encryption keys. Messages encrypted by the previous key will be impossible to restore. If you are forced to enter a PIN to unlock the device, you can use your Panic PIN. All the data will consequently be erased.

Anonymity

The application does not require any extra permissions. It’s not necessary to share your contact list, use any personal data, phone number or e-mail. Registration is simple: just create your password and the authorization keys will be created. Registration as it is does not exist because the network is decentralized. You register by generating boqpod ID based on elliptic-curves. Boqpod network servers only deliver encrypted text messages or communication requests. Connection between subscribers is peer-to-peer based. As a matter of priority subscribers connect each other directly. You can create a group Obscure chat and add members. The existence of the chat is known only to the chat members.

Swiss incorporated company with initial capital payment made in XRP cryptocurrency. We prefer not to use bank account to avoid any inappropriate enforcement action. Self-funded company.

Application permissions

Camera / take pictures and videos: required for boqpod video calls and for the built-in camera app

Microphone / record audio: required for voice calls and voice messages

Phone / Read phone status and identity: required to keep background connection instead of using Google Cloud Messaging

Storage / Modify or delete the contents of you shared storage: required to create an encrypted database to store all your messages, pictures, encryption keys.
