C-POMS Calculator

The Cardiac Post-Operative Morbidity Score (C-POMS) is the first validated and published score for health professionals’ to describe and quantify in-hospital patient recovery after heart surgery. C-POMS is a thirteen-domain model (pulmonary, infection, renal, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, haematological, neurological, wound, pain, ambulation, endocrine, electrolyte and review) where the presence or absence of each of the domains is prospectively assessed on day 3 (D3), day 5 (D5), day 8 (D8) and day 15 (D15) generating a summary score between 0-13 denoting total morbidity burden.

This app is designed to be used at the patient bed-side to identify individual patient morbidity and total morbidity burden, and assess possible subsequent length of stay in hospital.
