CAN Handball 2020

The Men's African Handball Championship has brought together the best African men's handball teams every two years since 1974.

It is placed under the aegis of the African Handball Confederation in January of each year in accordance with the general competition calendar of the IHF, the International Handball Federation.

The future African Champion is qualified directly for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the vice-champion will play one of the TQO Qualifying Tournaments in April 2020 and the first 6 teams will be qualified for the 2021 Egypt World Championship.

The first edition of the Men's African Nations Championship took place at the Sports Palace of El Menzah in Tunis in November 1974. The tournament brought together the best male handball teams in Africa and is played at the same time as the women's tournament .
