Stream live cellular and GPS telemetry from Android to Kismet over USB
COMPANION APPLICATION FOR KISMET CELLULAR DATASOURCE
https://github.com/AlsatianConsulting/CellularDatasource
Cellular Datasource streams live cellular radio and GPS telemetry from your Android device into Kismet workflows.
Designed for field operations and lab testing, the app provides a focused capture pipeline so you can move from phone telemetry to Kismet visibility with minimal setup.
What you can do
- Stream cellular measurements in real time from Android to host-side collectors.
- Stream GPS data alongside cellular telemetry for mapping and correlation.
- Run in foreground service mode for continuous collection while the screen is off.
- Auto-start after device reboot when enabled in your workflow.
- Use USB + ADB forwarding into localhost/Kismet pipelines on your host.
Typical workflow
1) Connect phone to your host over USB.
2) Start stream in the app.
3) Forward host ports with ADB.
4) Ingest stream into Kismet capture helpers.
Permissions
The app requests permissions needed for its telemetry features, including location, phone state, boot completed, foreground service, and networking. Permissions are used to support the features you enable.
Privacy and data handling
- No built-in cloud backend operated by the developer.
- Telemetry is sent only to endpoints you configure.
- Data retention is determined by your downstream tools and storage choices.
Best for
- Kismet operators
- RF and cellular field researchers
- Technical security and diagnostics workflows
Important
