The Colombian Institute for the Evaluation of Education (Icfes) is one of the most important public organisms of the Ministry of National Education of Colombia.

The main function of this body is to evaluate the different educational levels and, in addition, to support the ministry in conducting state exams.

Students who wish to pass the tests carried out at ICFES must register online according to the calendar scheduled for 2021. E

n the link to the body's page there are different links to register according to the type of test that you want to take, as well as a link with the most frequent doubts in the registration process.

For ordinary registration, regardless of the type of test to be carried out, the website redirects to the Prisma System. To access, it can be done through a Prisma user or through an identity document (Colombian passport, immigration card, identity card, etc.).

In both cases, you must create a new account with username and password if it is the first time you access it. To create the account, there are different tabs depending on whether it is a school or a natural person.

The tests carried out by this public body are three in total (Saber 11, Saber PRO and Saber TyT), as will be detailed later. All tests pursue the following objectives:

Reliably verify the development of the skills and knowledge of the students, as well as to measure the functioning of the Colombian educational system.

Provide all possible information in order to make comparisons between educational programs and institutions.

Collect data to build and optimize evaluation indicators.

The Saber tests assess such important skills today as mathematics, reading and English, among others. The questions of each exam range between 100 and 115 and the duration time is 4 hours and 30 minutes.

Another of the objectives pursued by these tests is to focus on where the student wants to go, that is, to be able to determine what their professional future should be based on the skills and knowledge they have.
