CITES

The application presents the most commonly occurring listed species in the course of trade

in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora

extinction. This convention is a legal act with an international scale

cross-border trade in various animal species and products made from them.

The primary objective of the Convention is to protect wild animal and plant populations through

controlling and limiting international trade in these animals and plants.

The CITES Convention covers the protection of over 30,000 animal and plant species. Applies to both

live specimen, dead specimens, their parts or products obtained from these species.
