COFFEE CONNECT - INDIA COFFEE FIELD FORCE APP

In order to ease the work of field functionaries and to improve the work efficiency, Board in association with NISG, has developed a Field force mobile application. This Mobile application provides solution by harnessing the power of mobility comprising of the latest technology in easing the whole process of the field activities like digitization of Coffee Growers & Estates with Geo Tagging, collecting the Plantation details like plant material, age, production,Infrastructures, Machinery available, etc.

The solution will help in

- Improve the efficiency of the extension field functionaries

- Digitisation of growers, coffee estates, infrastructure

- Transparency in the activities of the extension officers / officials

- Transparency in subsidy disbursement

- Real time report generation

Salient Feature of the app:

This Mobile System provides solution by Harnessing the Power of Mobility comprising of the latest technology in easing the whole process of the field activities like conducting extension activities, field advisories to coffee growers, real time crop estimation, educating the growers and their welfare by providing subsidies to the righteous beneficiaries, soil sample collection and many more.

Solution also provides Web based Dashboard Reports, which gives Overview and analysis reports based on the field functionaries visits and activities performed on the field.

There are a number of activities the Coffee Board extension officers / officials are performing to improve the growth of the Coffee production in India. Few of them are briefed below:

1. Registering Coffee Growers & Estates with Geo Tagging, Collecting the Plantation Details like plant material, age, production, Infrastructures, Machinery available.

Crop estimation data collection from the designated Sample Estates across the coffee growing areas during the phases of Post Blossom, Post Monsoon and Final Crop Harvest and extrapolation of the data to Total Bearing Area covered in India to get the Estimation of the Crop production on real time basis.

d. Quick Surveys on outbreak of pests and diseases and crop loss

1. Gathering information about the drought situation like rainfall, water availability, area affected.

3. Extension Activities helps to bridge the gap between coffee growers and research scientists in implementation of improved coffee technology. The mobile application helps to record the activities performed on real time basis with location capturing wherever necessary. The main extension programmes envisaged are as follows:

• Conducting Method Demonstrations / On-farm Demonstrations to improve the skills of carrying out operation effectively.

• Conducting village level/group meetings and seminars.

• Conducting Mass Contact/Mass Communication Programmes, media campaigns and other training programmes to improve the knowledge and skill levels of coffee growers and workers in coffee estates.

• Conducting Vocational Training programmes for women workers / growers.
