Get the Colonoscopy Preparation Mobile App for KMC Hospital, Manipal.

This app's primary purpose is to improve patient adherence/compliance by showing step-by-step instructions to the patient over a preparation period of around 20 hours on how to prepare or cleanse their colon properly for their upcoming colonoscopy appointment, so that the colonoscopy will not end up in failure due to presence of solid or particulate stools obstructing adequate visualization of the colon.

Simply by inputting the date of the colonoscopy appointment in the app, its event engine gets activated that will trigger a series of timed alerts and notifications and accompanying detailed reminder screens. So, each alert message with an audible alarm will remind the patient at the right time about what they need to do and show them this reminder screen which will display the specific instruction for that time of the day.

Patients can also view educational screens for permissible diet, mixing and usage of bowel prep solution, checking their own preparedness, importance of preparation, schedule overview, frequently asked questions, etc. An encrypted chat feature connects them securely to a physician if they require such assistance during prep, beyond calling the clinic staff.

Developed exclusively for the gastroenterology department of Kasturba Medical College Hospital at Manipal, Colonica is intended to be used as a patient education and engagement technology, and is designed to improve bowel prep quality and health economic outcomes and enhance the quality of patient care.
