Constitución Política Panamá

The Political Constitution of the Republic of Panama of 1972 is the fundamental Panamanian charter, currently in force. Given in the city of Panama, on the 11th day of October 1972, amended by Reformatory Acts No. 1 and No. 2 of October 5 and 25, 1978, respectively; by the Constitutional Act approved on April 24, 1983; by Legislative Acts No. 1 of 1993 and No. 2 of 1994; and by Legislative Act No. 1 of 2004. The purpose of this Constitution of the Republic is to enforce the rights of people and their obligations, promote an organized society in the pursuit of justice, implement a base of rules or provisions to legal certainty, together with the organization of a sovereign State for a common good, enforcing the foundations of human coexistence, respect for the dignity of the person and the construction of a more just society.
