What is the COSMILE Europe App?

The COSMILE Europe app is an entry point to access information in the COSMILE Europe database, a European cosmetic ingredients database that provides reliable, verified and scientifically based information on nearly 30,000 ingredients used in cosmetics.

The information in the database will help you understand why certain ingredients are in your cosmetic products, what their properties are and much more.

How does COSMILE Europe work?

Available in 13 languages - Bulgarian, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Lithuanian, Polish, Romanian and Spanish - with more to come, the app offers several ways to easily get information about cosmetic ingredients.

You can search for ingredient information by scanning the ingredient list on the product label, or you can manually search for information on an individual ingredient to retrieve information on the product ingredient list.

The 'Insights' section provides information on how EU law ensures that cosmetics and their ingredients are safe, what makes sunscreen work and other answers to useful frequently asked questions about cosmetics and their ingredients.
