Decibel mApp is a solution presented by a group of middle school students to the ever growing issue of noise induced hearing loss. Due to loud noises from the workplace, construction sites, concerts, games, movie theaters, and even headphones, many people are damaging their ears at an increasingly young age.

The software records how loud the environment is throughout the day. It then displays that data in three unique, easy to read ways:

--- The home page shows overall exposure and distinguishes healthy exposure from unhealthy noise exposure in a simple format.

--- The graph page shows all plotted points with a color-coded background to identify unhealthy exposure.

--- The map is the unique aspect of this innovative application. Color coded markers show the user where he or she experiences loud noises throughout his or her day. This allows the user to act accordingly by bringing ear protection when going to areas with loud noises.

NOTE: Many of the defaults are fully customizable in the settings page, with options for the number of recent values, polling interval, auto refresh settings, and calibration.
