These guidelines are intended to assist the police officer and first responders who may visit the scene of the crime site for recognizing, collecting and safeguarding the electronic evidence. Every crime scene is unique hence; the first, responder should take sufficient precaution mentioned in these guidelines. If the electronic evidence is not collected with proper cautions, then it is just useless and does not have any evidential values. The digital evidence may include PC, laptop, hard drives, SSD drives, floppy disks, CD,VCD, DVD, pen drive, different memory card, SIM cards, mobile phones, tape drives, digital cameras, Digital audio recorder, satellite phone, receiver, video game consoles, GPS receiver, computer chips, Fax machine, scanners, etc.
