Ju-Jutsu is modern self-defense (SV) and combat sport, which combines elements of different combat sport and self-defense systems or has further developed them. Ju-Jutsu is a constantly adapting system that opens up to the current conditions of violence prevention, SV and duel combat and accepts them.

Jiu-Jitsu is a Japanese self-defense system that was developed by the samurai. These systems (ryû) enabled the samurai to continue fighting if their weapons were lost. The defense techniques should help the supposedly weaker to win over the supposedly stronger (victory by giving in).
