DotMyWay is a guidance system inside buildings such as museums, hotels
DotMyWay is an assistive technology app designed to help blind people navigate spaces independently, identifying places and points of interest through voice prompts.
Using the smartphone camera, the app detects special visual tags installed in the environment and provides real-time information on location, direction, and distance.
These tags represent an improved evolution of QR codes: they are designed to be recognized even from several meters away and are generally positioned at head height to facilitate identification.
When a tag is intercepted, DotMyWay immediately reads its content, such as "services," "emergency exit," or "main entrance." Each tag can also include a more detailed description, which can be listened to on request.
The app integrates advanced features such as voice indication of the tag's position within the frame, automatic focus maintenance, and a dynamic flashlight that adjusts light intensity to improve visibility while reducing battery consumption.
DotMyWay can be used in public and private environments, helping to make spaces more accessible, intuitive and inclusive.
