A digital library (English: digital library or electronic library or virtual library) is a library that has a collection of books mostly in digital format and which can be accessed by computer. This type of library is different from the conventional type of library in the form of a collection of printed books, micro films (microform and microfiche), or a collection of audio cassettes, videos, etc. The contents of the digital library reside on a computer server that can be placed locally, or in a remote location, but can be accessed quickly and easily via a computer network.
