Economics of Sea Transport

This course covers a range of topics covering the basic definitions of economics and maritime economics. We will look at the distinction between the micro economic theory of shipping and macro economic factors affecting international trade and shipping, and the differences between them.

The Demand for Shipping, Cost Analysis and Economies of Scale lead us to look at the Dry Cargo, Tanker and Liner markets as well as Ports, Canals and Waterways.
