ESPACIOS SENIOR is an initiative promoted by UDP, which seeks to build territories and communities that are committed and friendly to the elderly, guaranteeing the full citizenship of those who inhabit it, without differences due to age, gender, needs or capacities and regardless of their location. geographic location or number of inhabitants.

It seeks to promote the creation of communities and territories that are friendly to the elderly, from the premises of participation, active aging, new governance, the fight against depopulation, the accompaniment of loneliness, the provision of proximity services and the job creation in rural areas.

Territorial intervention is articulated with the direct involvement of city councils, preferably small rural municipalities.

It works to achieve the following objectives:

.- Establish a governance model that incorporates the perspective of the aging of the population in the planning of local policies.

.- Generate and propose strategies, alliances and intervention policies favorable to active aging.

.- Create friendly and inclusive environments with all people throughout their life cycle and regardless of their circumstances.

.- Promote the contribution of the elderly and social organizations in the process of territorial development and job creation.
