The Esztergom Castle Museum is a branch of the Hungarian National Museum in Esztergom, the birthplace of the first Hungarian King, the capital of the Árpád House Kings, head of the Hungarian Catholic Church and one of the outstanding centers of the Hungarian Renaissance. Esztergom, with its unparalleled talents, was constantly thrown into the mainstream of European movements and historical events. The Castle Hill in the middle of the city and the Museum here hold special treasures from the birthplace of the Hungarian state. In recent years, the Castle Museum has been able to preserve priceless cultural heritage assets through its extensive reconstruction and investment throughout the Palace, and has made it possible to display many unique historical sites.
