Etymology of Germanic words

With this app you can find German, English and Dutch words that have a common etymological origin. The dictionary only contains words of Germanic origin. Clicking on an entry on the details page will take you to an etymological dictionary in the respective language.

The app still has a few bugs. For example, when using the search function, it can happen that several identical entries are displayed; in this case, always select the first entry to avoid a crash of the app. If you receive an error message, please only press the "Back" button on your smartphone.

The app requires a release for access to the internet connection, as the contents are stored online.
