Countdown Widget: Days Until

Countdown Widget counts the days until — and since — the moments that matter: birthdays, weddings, Tết, exams, trips, anniversaries. Home-screen widgets show the right number every morning. Your events stay on your phone, with no account. The app is free with ads; Countdown Pro removes them.

UNLIMITED EVENTS

Add as many countdowns and widgets as you want, free — no cap.

VIETNAMESE LUNAR CALENDAR BUILT IN

✓ Create events on the lunar calendar — Tết (Lunar New Year), death anniversaries (ngày giỗ), lunar birthdays, Mid-Autumn Festival — and the app converts them to the correct solar date every year, automatically

✓ Astronomical algorithm (Ho Ngoc Duc), accurate from 1900 to 2100, calculated on your phone

✓ Detail screen shows both calendars side by side, plus the can-chi (sexagenary) year name

✓ Built-in suggestions: Tết (1/1 lunar), Mid-Autumn (15/8 lunar), Hung Kings Day (10/3 lunar), National Day 2/9, Christmas, New Year

WIDGETS THAT STAY UP TO DATE

Widgets roll over with the day: a midnight alarm, a periodic refresh run by Android as a safety net, and a live per-second countdown in the final 48 hours. In deep sleep the battery-friendly alarm may flip a few minutes after 00:00.

✓ 2x2 single-event widget — big day count, event name, emoji and date

✓ 4x2 list widget — your upcoming events at a glance

✓ Pick the event for each widget; Dark and Auto themes are free, and Auto follows your phone's light or dark mode

✓ Or pick "Next event": the widget moves on by itself when one passes

✓ Add a widget from inside the app in one tap on launchers that support it

MORE FEATURES

✓ Days until / days since / "Today!"

✓ Repeat none, yearly, monthly or weekly — yearly and monthly on the solar or the lunar calendar

✓ Reminders on the day and 7 days before, at the hour you set; turn them off per event

✓ Reminder reliability: allow background activity in one tap, with steps for strict brands

✓ Long waits in plain words — "1 year 2 months 12 days" next to the day count

✓ Progress bar toward the date, plus milestones (day 100, 365, 1,000…) and "Anniversary #5"

✓ Working days (Mon–Fri) and weekends left before the date

✓ Emoji and accent color per event, pin favorites, share as text

✓ Restore a backup file, always free

✓ Dark mode

FIND AND ORGANIZE

✓ Search with or without Vietnamese accents — "tet" finds "Tết"

✓ Sort by soonest, by name or by newest added

✓ Hide past events, pin favorites to the top

SHORTCUTS

✓ Quick Settings tile that shows your next event (Android 7 and later)

✓ Long-press the app icon to add an event or open an upcoming one

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Your event names, notes, dates and photos never leave your phone — they are stored only in the app's private storage. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob and Unity Ads, which may use your device's advertising ID; where the law requires it you are asked for consent first, and Settings → Pro & ads → Ad privacy choices changes it any time. The app also sends anonymous usage counts and crash reports (Firebase) so we can fix bugs; that never includes the text you type, and you can switch it off in Settings. Notification permission is used only to remind you of your own events.
