What does a flight itinerary for Visa mean?

A flight itinerary for visa is a detailed document usually generated by a flight booking GDS system that shows the most likely flight that a visa applicant intends to take once their visa is approved. A flight itinerary will contain details such as flight names, routes, cost of the flight & passenger details. It will not contain a PNR like a regular flight ticket.

What is the difference between a flight reservation for visa and a flight itinerary when applying for a visa?

The big difference is that a flight itinerary will NOT have a PNR number, but a flight reservation will. The visa officer can use the PNR number to confirm the booking, which can be done online. 

In the past, you had to go to a local travel agent and ask for a flight itinerary. But these days you can get it online. For our clients, we use the FlightGen app to plan their travel so they can get visas.

An itinerary receipt is a confirmation document that has the number of the e-ticket you have purchased. You receive it in your email upon the issuance of your flight ticket.

What is a dummy flight ticket for a visa?

This is basically the same as a flight itinerary for a visa. When you purchase a dummy ticket for a visa application, you actually pay to have a saved seat on a plane on your chosen dates for an appointed period. After you get the visa you can purchase the plane ticket.
