Forest for the Future

Plants grown through community nurseries in the buffer zone of the Singharaja World heritage site will be made available to registered participants to plant in identified vulnerable areas. Such areas as lands prone to landslides, waterlogged and polluted areas to conserve water security, degraded agricultural lands, buffer zones of protected forests are considered vulnerable. The overall objective is to strengthen vulnerable ecosystems, create bio-links between forest fragments to facilitate migrations and educate the general public in the need for sustainable practices and a greener future.
