ForPatientApp

ForPatientApp is a digital app assistant for patients, who undergo surgery. The app will support patients in the time before and after a surgical intervention. Available surgeries are knee and hip replacement (implants/prosthesis), hernia surgery or colorectal surgery.

For Patient App is provided to patients by their hospital. Provider of the app to hospitals is B. Braun.

- In the For Patient App the patient gets information about their surgery, how to prepare themselves and how to recovery well.

- The For Patient App is an specifical app for patients with different surgical disciplines like hernia surgery, knee replacement surgery, hip replacement surgery or colorectal surgery.

- For every single intervention the app delivers the right information at the right time to patients.

- The For Patient App will allow knee implant, hip implant, hernia or colorectal patients seeing the specific information for the hospital that treats them.

Functionalities:

- After the download of the ForPatient App patients will be asked to register with the access code that has been provided by the hospital for using the app.

- After this step the app will show you automatically the information for their specific intervention (knee or hip prosthesis/implant, hernia surgery, colorectal surgery) and for their treating hospital.

- The ForPatient App guides patients thorough their patient pathway by showing the most relevant steps on a calendar. It enables a virtual assisted connection between patients and their healthcare professional to prepare both for surgery.

- The ForPatient App reminds patients to not forget the most important steps in their preparation before surgery as well as in the follow-up after surgery. For example the app reminds patients to not forget the follow-up consultations with their healthcare professionals.

- The healthcare professional can send messages to patients and track their information stage along the pathway.
