Fractals are rough geometric objects at all scales, and can be seen to be "divided" in a radical way. Some fractals can be broken down into parts that are all similar to the original fractal. Fractals are said to have infinite details and can have self-like structures at different magnification levels. In many cases, a fractal can be produced by repeating a pattern, usually in a recursive or iterative process.

English from fractals is fractal. The term fractal was made by Benoît Mandelbrot in 1975 from the Latin word fractus which means "broken", "broken", or "irregular". Before Mandelbrot introduced the term, the common name for such structures (for example Koch snowflakes) was the monster curve.
