Boomerang is a top Indonesian rock group from Surabaya. It was officially established on May 8, 1994 under the name Lost Angels, but has been active since 1991.

They consistently appear in the rock track, however they do not limit the influence of various styles / styles of music. It all became a kind of trade mark or musical characteristic that was different from this group.

In the early '90s, Hubert Henry Limahelu a.k.a. 'HH5H' (bass), John Paul Ivan a.k.a. 'JPI' (guitar), Roy Jeconiah Isoka Wurangian (vocal) and Peter "Pet" Augusti (drummer) founded a band with the name 'Lost Angels', a play on words from the name of the city of Los Angeles and at the same time mean 'Lost Angels'.

On May 8, 1994 they agreed to change the name Lost Angels to Boomerang which also became the title of their debut album which was released on the market on July 1, 1994 with the hit single 'Love'. Therefore in making the clip 'Love' on the first album, they only appear in threes. To fill the vacancy of drummer position when they have to do tours and concerts, they recruited Farid Martin, known to them from Mas Tony, Sound Engineer on the first and second album Boomerang. On January 1, 1995 Farid Martin officially became a permanent member of Boomerang.

But in mid-2005, based on "principle differences", JPI chose to leave Booomerang and decided to work alone. JPI formed the super band Trio JPI group together with bassist Bondan Prakoso from Funky Kopral and Cliff as drummer.

As a substitute for JPI, Boomerang recruited two young Indonesian guitarists, Oi from Power Metal and Tommy guitarist from Riau. Not satisfied with their performance, Boomerang recruited one of Indonesia's reliable guitarists, Andry Franzzy, who was a former Powerslaves guitarist in early 2006.
