In order to provide our core offering of a full-service suite of end-to-end encrypted and anonymous communication solutions, Glacier has integrated VPN service as a critical piece of our app’s core functionality. Glacier's integral Security Hub uses the VPN to support the core functionality of device security.

Specifically, the Glacier app leverages the VpnService API to provide users with a secure, private connection while communicating. The VPN is used to protect sensitive data by encrypting the user’s traffic, especially when using unsecured Wi-Fi networks in public spaces. This functionality is fully opt-in, and users can turn the VPN on or off at any time through the app’s settings. We do not collect or log any user traffic and we adhere to a strict privacy policy. Our app complies with all relevant data privacy regulations, and users are informed of how their data is handled via our privacy policy.

As an optional feature for team safety and security, Glacier has integrated a live mapping/location tracking feature for organizations. This is an entirely opt-in feature for each end-user device. Location data sent to Glacier is encrypted in transit and at rest, and each organization admin can set the retention period frequency for storing location history.
