About Go Paint
Go Paint is a digital painting app focused on realistic pen-on-paper drawing on tablets.
Co-developed by Huawei and the China Academy of Art, Go Paint delivers true brush feel on supported HarmonyOS tablets. It blends PC-style workflows with pro tools, fast performance, and intuitive gestures for a smooth creative experience. Users can download Go Paint APK to explore its paper-like textures and brushes. Here are the highlights that matter in daily use.
FangTian Engine 2.0 with 150+ brushes and deep customization settings.
Gold silk, Silver silk, and Rice paper canvases for tactile results.
Up to 8K canvases, 120 fps rendering, and low-latency stylus response.
Instant Shape, Willow Leaf, and gesture shortcuts for faster creation.
The FangTian Painting Engine 2.0 powers expressive strokes with over 150 preset brushes and 80+ adjustable settings. Texture, flow, pressure curves, and scattering can be fine-tuned to match a preferred style, whether for ink drawing, watercolor, or textured digital oil. Importing Photoshop-compatible custom brushes expands the toolkit, so users can carry over existing assets without rebuilding from scratch.
The Go Paint app responds naturally to stylus input on supported HUAWEI MatePad devices, including M-Pencil. On specific MatePad Pro 12.2 models with M-Pencil 2nd or 3rd gen, the splatter brush adds hover-and-double-tap ink effects for dynamic finishes. If a custom brush does not behave as expected, switching to a similar preset or checking brush compatibility often helps achieve the intended look.
Gold silk, Silver silk, and Rice paper textures give drawings a tactile surface that changes how strokes grip and blend. Rice paper suits calligraphy and ink wash, with soft fringe on edges. Gold and Silver silk add subtle sheen, making shading and highlights pop in illustration or decorative layouts. Switching textures can change the mood of a piece without altering brush settings.
These canvases offer a paper-like feel in the Go Paint app on supported HarmonyOS tablets. Some textures or their most realistic effects may vary by device. If a preferred texture is unavailable, choosing a standard canvas still delivers consistent performance, and grain can be simulated with textured brushes or overlay layers.
High performance keeps drawing responsive, even on large projects. Users can work on canvases up to 8K, with rendering at up to 120 fps and average latency around 15 ms. The workflow stays fluid when zooming, rotating, or moving across detailed scenes.
Layer management is robust: at 2K resolution, projects can reach 500+ layers for complex illustrations, composites, or storyboard pages. In the Go Paint app, higher resolutions may reduce the maximum layer count. When layers start to add up, merging non-critical passes or flattening effects after iteration helps maintain speed without compromising the final result.
Instant Shape speeds up clean geometry: circles, rectangles, and other forms snap into place for quick layouts or polished icons. Willow Leaf is useful for line art and large-area coloring, offering smooth coverage and consistent edges. Together, they cut repetitive steps and get sketches ready for refinement faster.
Gestures keep the flow uninterrupted. Hold one finger to pick colors on the fly. Two-finger tap to undo and three-finger tap to redo avoids digging into menus. Pinch and rotate with two fingers to pan, zoom, and adjust orientation, and use a four-finger tap for immersive mode while fitting the canvas to screen. The Go Paint app’s gestures may vary slightly based on HarmonyOS versions; checking your HUAWEI MatePad settings can improve consistency.
Animation tools let users build frame-by-frame sequences, test timing with simple storyboards, and export to MP4, GIF, or image stacks for sharing. Short motion loops are easy to prototype, and GIF exports help preview character movement or UI micro-interactions.
Templates and step-by-step tutorials guide beginners through common workflows, while experienced artists can grab a template and adapt it to project needs. The Go Paint app’s guided content removes guesswork and speeds up learning, especially when trying new brush types, texture combinations, or animation setups. If previews stutter on very large projects, reducing canvas size for test renders keeps iteration smooth.
You can download Go Paint APK 1.2 from APKPure. The package size is around 789.0 KB (the package size may vary by version). After the file completes, your device may prompt for installation permissions; approve to continue. For best results, ensure sufficient storage and use a compatible HarmonyOS tablet such as HUAWEI MatePad with M-Pencil.
Open the app and start with a quick sketch, try a texture like Rice paper, and test core gestures. If features like the splatter brush are missing, they may require specific MatePad Pro models and newer HarmonyOS builds. Keep the stylus charged, save work regularly, and enjoy a responsive canvas from the first session.
