Gold Tester

Gold Tester — helps you identify the material of jewelry, coins, or bullion by calculating their density with simple electronic scales and taking measurement accuracy into account.

With this app you can*:

• Check jewelry, coins, and bullion without damaging them

• Determine the purity of gold, silver, platinum, or palladium

• Detect fakes, imitations, or incorrect markings

• Find out what material your item is made of

• Use scales with different precision levels

• Perform repeated measurements for better accuracy

• Observe differences in physical properties and color

• Save and share your measurements

Supported purity grades of precious metals:

• Gold

How to check gold or other precious metals?

Anyone can do it. The app provides hints on every screen, and the testing process is divided into two simple steps with clear instructions.

* The app does not cover all possible materials or all possible alloys within the listed purity grades. It does not work with composite (combined) items, hollow items, or items with inserts. The density calculator uses hydrostatic weighing (Archimedes’ principle). Higher scale precision provides more accurate results. Data is valid at 20 °C and 1013.25 hPa. For a final conclusion, additional methods are recommended, such as X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis, touchstone acid testing, conductivity testing, etc.
