About GPS Accuracy Test

View GPS accuracy, satellites, signal strength, and GNSS data.

GPS Accuracy Test is a GPS test and GNSS status app that shows real-time satellite data from your Android phone. Check GPS accuracy, GNSS signal strength, satellites in view, satellites used in fix, location accuracy, coordinates, altitude, speed, bearing, azimuth, elevation, satellite system and signal band.

Use the app to see how your phone receives navigation satellites and how stable your current location fix is. The app shows connected satellites used for your current position, all satellites detected by your device, signal quality, C/N0 signal level, GPS/GNSS fix status, horizontal accuracy, vertical accuracy, HDOP, VDOP, PDOP and live location updates.

The GNSS sky plot shows satellites around your phone by direction and elevation. You can compare satellites used in fix with satellites in view, so you can understand why GPS accuracy is strong, weak or unstable in different places.

The satellite details screen shows detailed GPS/GNSS data in a clear table, including satellite ID / SVID, satellite system, fix use, C/N0 signal strength, elevation, azimuth and band. Supported satellite systems may include GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou, QZSS, SBAS and NavIC / IRNSS, depending on your Android device.

The map screen includes a 60-second GPS/GNSS accuracy test. Stand still outdoors with a clear view of the sky and run the test to measure location stability over time. The result shows best accuracy, average accuracy, worst accuracy, position drift, average C/N0, best C/N0, average used satellites and fix drops.

Connected Satellites

Satellites currently used to calculate your location.

In View

Satellites detected by your device, but not always used for positioning.

Used in Fix

Number of satellites actively used to calculate your current location.

Strong Signal

Satellites with good signal quality.

Weak Signal

Satellites with low or unstable signal quality.

Not Used in Fix

Satellites detected by the device but not used for the current location fix.

Horizontal Accuracy

Estimated location accuracy on the ground, for latitude and longitude.

Vertical Accuracy

Estimated accuracy of your altitude measurement.

Fix Type

Shows whether your device has a valid GPS/GNSS location fix. 3D Fix means latitude, longitude and altitude are available.

Provider

The source of the location data. GNSS means satellite-based positioning.

Latitude / Longitude

Your current geographic coordinates.

Altitude

Your height above sea level.

Speed

Your current movement speed.

Bearing

Your movement direction in degrees.

For best results, use the app outdoors in an open area with a clear view of the sky. GPS/GNSS accuracy depends on your phone hardware, satellite visibility, signal strength, weather, buildings, trees and surrounding terrain.
