About GPS Range Finder
Uses GPS locations to calculate distance, slope, latitude and azimuth.
Uses GPS locations to calculate distance, slope, latitude and azimuth for use in ballistics calculations. Simply set a location for the firing line position. Then set multiple locations for various down range targets. Distance, slope, and azimuth is calculated for each target location. Simply click on each target marker to get the information required for ballistics calculations.
To use the app go to the firing line. Wait for the Set FL and Add Target buttons to turn green indicating a locked GPS position, and press the Set FL button to set the location of the firing line. The app will then tell you your current distance from the firing line. Move to the desired target location and wait for the green buttons. Then press the Add Target button to log the location of the target. You can continue adding as many target locations as you like.
When you are finished adding target locations you can press the Tracking On button to toggle the GPS tracking off. This will conserve battery life as continuous GPS usage uses a lot of power.
You can then select any of the markers on the map to get information about the Firing Line or any of the targets that have been added. Note that selecting a marker automatically turns the tracking off. If you decide that you do not want a particular target that you added you can remove it by selecting the target marker and then pressing the Delete Target button.
The application will operate in yards or meters. Simply press the Yards/Meters toggle button to change units at any time. All relevant measurements will be indicated in the selected units.
The center button will center the map on the currently selected marker or on the current GPS position while tracking is on.
