Guide to Magical Plants

This guide describes the properties of over 175 plants and herbs commonly used in magick. It features an updated list of their properties and uses, high-resolution images, & information on their taxonomy. For those who like wildcrafting their own herbs, many of the plants feature a list describing the states in the US where the material is known to grow or related species that can be substituted in a pinch. For plants not native or naturalized in the US, suggestions are provided for obtaining them so you can get started working with the plants quickly.

The information in the app was developed from our own research and experimentation and cross-referenced with several sources (on-line and in print) to arrive at the most comprehensive guide on the properties of plants. In the course of producing this work, we decided to omit several plants for several reasons. Patently toxic, dangerous, or illegal materials are not included. Plants that are rare or endangered were also removed to prevent pressure or extinction, local or otherwise.

However, we understand that you will want to use materials that you are familiar with, and so we are open to any suggestions to include new plants in future editions of this work. Finally, always use good judgment when it comes to plants, either the ones featured in the app and in general. There are many plants out there that can be dangerous when misused, and those used in magick can be even more so. Know what you are working with, and how it may affect you. Observe all laws and regulations for gathering, purchasing, and possessing plants. Have fun with the plants, and happy hunting!
