About Hangman

This app contains over 1500 words, selected from among the toughest vocabulary words in college preparatory courses, all to get you ready for your big standardized test!

Choose from up to 6 different images, including an chemistry beaker, a snowman, and 2 takes on the classic stick figure hangman.

Blanks appear to guide you in the number of letters. Guess a correct letter and it will appear in the word blanks. Guess wrong...and, well you know.

Version 2.0 ushers in a brand new Scoring scheme, designed to challenge your to broaden your vocabulary. Correctly guess a word to add to your score, but lose the game, and points are subtracted. 5 "Award" categories provide particularly difficult challenges, including a time-based challenge, high score, and streak awards (which are earned by solving many puzzles consecutively).

Compete with yourself and your friends while building your vocabulary! Stumble on a particularly difficult word? Just click on the word after 'winning' or 'losing', and have it defined for you!
