Happy Wesak Day 2024

Vesak Day 2022 in India will be celebrated on Wednesday, 26 May. That day is a celebration of Gautama Buddha (Siddharta Gautama), the founder of Buddhism. The day is also known by various other names such as Buddha Day, Buddha Purnima, or Buddha Jayanti.

Vesak Day marks the birth date of the Buddha and is celebrated every year in the month of Vesak. According to the Gregorian calendar, days usually fall in April and May. However, it is uncertain when exactly Gautama Buddha was born and died. But according to historians, He was born Prince Siddhartha Gautam in Lumbini, Nepal, and died at the age of eighty. It was around 563 to 483 BC.

On this day, devotees fast and gather at the temple of the Buddha and listen to the teachings of the Buddha. It is believed that on this day whoever fasts and remembers Lord Vishnu and Buddha, their faults will be erased from their life, and they will grow up to become faithful devotees of the Lord.
