Huawei watch GT2 app Guide app

Welcome to the huawei watch GT 2 app Guide

Huawei's Watch GT is known for its long battery life and great design, but also for its laggy and limited interface. The Watch GT 2 is a definite step in the right direction, but it's still lacking in a few key areas.

Smartwatches are hard to get right. Some of Huawei's past offerings have fallen short, sometimes with regards to software, other times with battery life. Other companies have tried to do too much to put a small smartphone on your wrist with mixed results. Apple WatchOS and Google Wear OS certainly offer more tools and features than Huawei Lite OS, but more is always better? Watch GT 2 aims to remove everything superfluous from smartwatches and apply the basics.

Has Huawei upgraded its software, or is the Watch GT 2 all displayed and unusable? In Android Authority's Huawei Watch GT 2 review, you'll find out soon enough.

The world of smartwatch software right now is a bit of a mess, at least on Android. I'm sure you've heard it many times, but it needs to be stated. Tizen, Wear OS, Fitbit OS, and Huawei's Lite OS simply haven't been able to compete with Apple's wearable OS which is strong in raw functionality and seamless connection with the phone.

That hasn't changed, but the overall smartwatch experience has improved significantly over the past few years. Plus, some of my biggest complaints about Android-compatible smartwatches have been resolved. While I commend Huawei for its excellent hardware, there is still room for improvement in the software.

Last year's Huawei Watch GT had a few issues, mainly with a laggy interface. This year's hardware differences aren't as big as you'd expect the Watch GT 2 and its predecessor housed in similar external shells. The main improvements with the Watch GT 2 lie under the hood with performance, stability, health tracking and battery life. GT 2 isn't a massive upgrade over GT, so the question is whether the improvements that have been made are enough to recommend it.

This smartwatch is beautiful. The Classic takes a more executive approach than previous models, and with its leather strap, I really dig the industrial design. The 46mm version is in my opinion the much nicer looking hardware of the two size options yes, the designs of the two sizes are a bit different. The smaller option is sleeker and elegant with curved glass and minimal bezels, while the model I had looked smarter and more business-friendly with its chrome-like bezel and diver's watch numbering around the screen. There is also a Sport version of the large edition which comes with a standard silicone strap.

The Watch GT 2's physical features are few, but well designed. There are no buttons or crown, but there are two physical buttons on the right side. One is the home button, which also displays the built-in app selector, and the other is specific to health tracking and launching workouts.
