HUE

The HUE mobile application has been established by the Family Planning Association of Trinidad and Tobago (FPATT) to connect vulnerable persons to essential healthcare and social services. HUE has been developed for and with survivors of violence, persons living with HIV and AIDS, differently abled persons, sex workers, adolescent mothers, members of the LGBT+ community and other vulnerable and marginalized groups.

This user-friendly designed app is available to users in English and Spanish and all efforts have been made to ensure our partner organizations can provide safe, secure, and accessible services to all users.

HUE allows users to access key information on a range of essential services to address family violence including health, justice, policing, and social services. This includes local services and the full range of services under the Spotlight Initiative. Some examples are:

• Medical Services

• Legal Services

• Protective/secure agencies

• Crisis response organizations

• Educational/employment/social services programmes.

The following features can be found in the HUE app:

Live Chat Feature: Similar to a hotline, this feature would allow the user to confidentially access one of FPATT’s peer educators for support. This feature has several security functions to protect your privacy, such as end to end encryption like WhatsApp and Telegram.

Telehealth: This function allows users to engage remotely with their physicians. It ensures convenient and secure connections with your doctors.

Location Finder: Using location data, users are able to identify places, agencies, and persons nearby, utilizing an online map function or an offline static list.

Information Portal: This portal will be categorized by theme and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), filled with reader-friendly titbits which will carry links to more accurate and credible information.

Hue is powered by the Spotlight Initiative, a grant aimed at eliminating all forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG).
