Human Distance Control

Be yourself a controller, control the distance of your mobile phone:

1) Place your mobile phone on a table.

2) Press the RUN button.

3) Wait for the app to draw the orange reference signal. The x-axis represents the time, the y-axis shows the desired distance from start from 0 to about 1 m.

4) Wait for the countdown to be zero and you hear the beep-sound.

5) The actual mobile position is shown as a green signal. Move your mobile now such that it matches the reference all the time! This process is called feedback control.

6) Check the result: How well do the two signals match?

Additional programs are required to run the whole experiment. These programs need to run on a PC. To access these programs, refer to the links provided in the app.
