The Healthy Mother application was developed for research purposes to determine the effectiveness of a website/smartphone based lifestyle program in optimizing weight gain during pregnancy to prevent diabetes during pregnancy. Among the main functions of this application is the monitoring of weight gain during pregnancy, diet intake, health education and nutrition during pregnancy as well as the collection of data for each trimester of pregnancy.

Monitoring Weight Gain During Pregnancy

Know the recommendations for weight gain during pregnancy as well as track the rate of weight gain each week and the amount of weight gain throughout pregnancy. The weekly weight gain rate will be displayed in a graph prepared according to Body Mass Index (BMI) / before pregnancy to ensure weight gain during pregnancy is as recommended.

Dietary Intake

Has 2 main functions which are knowing diet recommendations and diet monitoring. Diet recommendations allow expectant mothers to determine energy intake recommendations and the number of servings of each daily food group. Diet comparisons help mothers to compare energy intake and the number of daily food groups consumed with established recommendations.

Health and Nutrition Education

Covers 4 main topics such as Weight Gain, Nutrition, Physical Activity and Psychosocial Health during pregnancy. It is presented in the format of articles, infographics and videos. Mothers can make behavioral changes that lead to optimal weight gain during pregnancy and subsequently the health of the mother and the baby in the womb.

Data collection

Includes 5 questionnaires such as sociodemographic, obstetrics, Trimester 1 questionnaire, Trimester 2 questionnaire and Trimester 3 questionnaire.
