IMPRECO

The IMPRECO App is the application created, as part of the implementation of the European IM.PR.ECO project, capable of verifying the position of users who visit the protected area of the Isonzo River Regional Nature Reserve, reporting to them the neighboring areas, of approach or entrance to prohibited or regulated areas in relation to the presence of the nature reserve, as well as the Natura 2000 site. Users may also receive notices regarding the behavior to be adopted, consult information sheets and seasonal warnings by means of a list and map display system and participate in the compilation of dedicated questionnaires.

IM.PR.ECO - Common strategies and best practices to IMprove the transnational PRotection of ECOsystem integrity and services - is the European project, financed with 1,254,180.50 euros by the ADRION cross-border cooperation program with the aim of improving the protection of ecosystem services and addressing their environmental vulnerability by strengthening the potential of protected areas in the conservation of biodiversity and ecosystems, through transnational cooperation work. An effective safeguarding of ecosystems requires, in fact, a global approach, through which it is possible to actively converge efforts at the local level, with the awareness that the socio-economic system affects the environment. The active involvement of public administration, public bodies, civil society, economic operators, as well as the academic world is the only one capable of developing synergies that also act at a supranational level, influencing the ecosystems which, being ecologically interconnected, are increasingly threatened from pressures generated at this level.

The project sees the Municipality of Staranzano (GO) and the Mouth of the Isonzo Regional Nature Reserve, leader of an international partnership also made up of the Veneto Agriculture Regional Agency, the University of Salento, Dopps Birdlife (Slovenia), the Regional Agency. Dalmatian Sea and Karst (Croatia), the National Development Fund (Albania) and the Region of Crete (Greece).
