CCPlay: Live Caption Translate

CCPlay turns the speech in the video you're watching into live captions and translation. Watch overseas livestreams, lectures, and shows with original and translated captions on top of the app you're already using, and translate conversations and recordings with Voice Notes and Two-way translation.

■ How to use (3 steps)

1. Play a video in YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or another app, or in the built-in browser.

2. Tap the ▶ Translation button at the bottom center and choose "Entire screen" when sharing.

3. Original and translated captions appear live over the app. Turn translation off when you're done.

■ Voice Notes

• Start Transcribe or Two-way translation from the Voice Notes tab at the bottom. Each recording is saved as its own note.

• Transcribe: record your voice or the sound around you and get it written out as text, with the translation alongside. View the original, the translation, or both.

• Search and pin notes, and export them as TXT or SRT files.

• A bar on the Voice Notes tab shows your remaining time at a glance.

■ Two-way translation

• Pick two languages and take turns speaking; each side sees the translation in their own language.

■ Create subtitles

• Create subtitle files (SRT) for videos saved on your phone (uses Plus or time-pass time).

■ Pricing

• No login. No Google account needed.

• 10 minutes free every week, refilled weekly.

• Watch a short ad to add +2 min. Up to 60 min per day.

• Time passes (1 hour · 3 hours +1 hour · 6 hours +2 hours · 15 hours +5 hours · 35 hours +15 hours) are not a subscription. They only go down while you use them, have no usage deadline, and add to your remaining time when you buy again.

■ FAQ

Q. Does it work with Netflix?

A. No. Apps that use DRM, such as Netflix, block audio capture, so no captions appear.

Q. Can it translate phone or video calls?

A. No. Android does not let other apps capture call audio. For face-to-face conversations, use Two-way translation.

Q. I don't see captions.

A. Make sure the video is actually playing sound and that you chose "Entire screen". Some apps block audio capture.

Q. Do I need internet?

A. Yes. Live captions, Voice Notes, Two-way translation and subtitle creation all need an internet connection. Speech is recognized and translated in the cloud.

Q. When is my time used?

A. Only while translation or transcription is on. Turn it off when you finish.
