Using this app and and a few other materials that can be accessed easily, you can investigate the free-body diagram of a stationary object on an inclined plane. You can install the app on your phone or tablet. Because a single object on an inclined plane is under consideration, the device and the object to which the device is fixed can together be considered as the single object of interest. The mobile device must be fixed to the object in such a way that the screen of the device always lies on an imaginary vertical plane and when the inclination angle is zero, one of the edges of the device is parallel to the ground. By tapping the screen once, the gravity vector’s decomposition along the axes can be shown/hidden. The natural orientation for many Android tablet devices is landscape and this may cause the FBD to be displayed incorrectly. In this situation, by double tapping the screen, all of the arrows being displayed can be rotated 90 degrees.
