InsPro - Insulin Infusion made easy !! This app is for assisting the health care provider for initiation and maintenance of intravenous insulin infusion for critically ill patients. This protocol is based on RSSDI (RESEARCH SOCIETY FOR THE STUDY OF DIABETES IN INDIA ) Clinical Practice Recommendations For In-hospital Management of Hyperglycemia – 2016. The app was designed by Dr. Vijay Panikar and Dr. Jimit Vadgama to reduce the time and workload of the Diabetes specialists, ICU registrars and other health care providers. This app helps in assisting the health care provider in applying the same protocol by making it easy to initiate the infusion in critically ill patients with established hyperglycemia and then helps them to adjust the rate of infusion according to change from previous levels, to keep Blood glucose level in the Target range of 140-180 mg/dL . This app simplifies the procedure of calculations in a simple to use Wizard based manner. It also has reminder/notification function, to alert the health care provider to check the next blood glucose monitoring.

The app also simplifies hypoglycemia management, by automatically calculating the dose of I.V. Dextrose required correcting hypoglycemia. This feature quickly calculates the estimated dose and also  prevents see-saw hyperglycemia occurring after large amount of I.V. Dextrose administration as practiced widely.
