iSazi Tutor

iSazi means Expert in Nguni languages, so iSaziTutor is the tutor-in-your-pocket.

Tutoring is in no way a substitute for formal training, but rather an ideal way of identifying gaps that exist after a student has engaged with the content inside the learning session. By employing “assessments-as-learning”, a methodology that develops students’ learning by engaging them in assessments tasks, students identify what they have learnt, what they need to learn and how to find out what they need to know. Or simply put, students complete a tutorials and assignments on a high frequency basis and an iSaziTutor assesses it and gives prompt feedback.

For the student, this happens on their cell phone, whilst the tutor accesses the portal via a web browser on a PC or laptop.

The iSaziTutor.com App facilitates four things:

- On-demand tutorials

- Weekly assignments

- Chat, split between private chat with a tutor and group chat with other learners in the same course; and

- Reporting via leader board, which introduces gamification into the learning process
